CLUB MEETINGS

LIFE MEMBERSHIP FOR GRAEME…..

At our General Meeting on 10^th September, 2023, it was the pleasure of our President Ken Slingsby to present a Life Membership to one of our long-serving members, Graeme Chislett.

Graeme was a little speechless when he received his award at the meeting, but I caught up with Graeme recently who wishes to express his thanks to the Club, the Committee and its members for the presentation. Graeme has been a very active member of the club since 1995. As the Club only began in 1993, Graeme has virtually been a member of the club since its inception. Graeme has taken on the role of President for 2 years, was Vice President and Runs Organiser for many years, Treasurer for 1 year, Club Safety Officer plus Scrutineer, also for many years.

Graeme was certainly taken aback with his presentation; he has thoroughly enjoyed his time with the club and wishes more people would get involved in the running of the Club. He said it was great to meet up with other people who had the same interest as he has, cars; his Austin Healey that he has owned for many years is probably his most favourite car. Graeme also mentioned the amazing runs he has been on including the Murder Mystery weekend to Rusty Springs, Avenel; the Great Alpine Road trip from Colac, Bright, Dinner Plain to Omeo, Sale and the Sorrento-Queenscliff ferry back to Colac….and numerous other day trips, too many to note.

Graeme was certainly a worthy recipient of a Life Membership to the Colac Collectable Car Club, and we congratulate him on his award. Congratulations Graeme.
